1. What is a Magnet?

A magnet is an object that attracts magnetic materials such as iron and steel. Every magnet has two poles.

2. Natural and Artificial

Lodestone is a natural magnet. Bar, horseshoe, ring and cylindrical magnets are artificial magnets made in different shapes.

3. Magnetic Poles

The two ends are called the north pole and south pole. Magnetic force is strongest near the poles.
